however, the friendly atmosphere made a notable difference. A delicious locally sourced sirloin steak for about £16 was a standout on the pub menu, and the generous breakfast options were appreciated. For a hotel with character and charm, the experience was quite enjoyable, despite a few minor setbacks in the food preparation.

great service but could improve room decor
Brian and Adrian offered exceptional hospitality during our two-night stay, ensuring we felt welcomed at all times. The food exceeded my expectations. each meal was flavorful, fresh, and remarkably priced.
The room decor felt somewhat outdated, which affected the overall ambience of our stay.

Charming decor added warmth, but the bathroom light turned on unexpectedly at night.

The food served during lunch had decent quality, particularly the rare steak cooked just right with golden, crispy chips that were moreish. The atmosphere had a warm, cute vibe reminiscent of a classic pub-something I genuinely appreciate.
The location turned out to be farther from the Royal Welsh Show than expected. The bathroom lacked shower gel and had a door that didn't fully open, which added to the discomfort. The breakfast room featured overly eccentric decor, including plastic flowers and a stuffed giraffe with a chandelier, which felt outlandish rather than cozy. There were no hand towels in the bathroom, and a slippy bath could have really benefited from a shower mat. While some elements were charming, they mostly missed the mark for a smoother stay.

Had a nice two-night stay where I really enjoyed the comfy bed and the delicious breakfast that got customized when I asked! The garden area was perfect for lounging in the sun or taking a stroll, adding to the relaxation vibe. The only hiccup was one bedroom under refurbishment, but it didn't overshadow the overall great experience. 😊

Had a proper chinwag about the evening meal, that pea and bacon soup was the dog's bollocks! The place is a quirky gem, and breakfast was delightful, especially under the watchful gaze of a giraffe. The owners? Total legends!
A couple of hiccups with the bathroom situation and a few light issues. Limited menu on a Tuesday caught us off guard, leading to a drive back into Brecon for a proper nosh.
